Data Center Technician Trainee – AWS Infrastructure Operations

About the role

Join Amazon Web Services' Infrastructure Services team as a Data Center Technician Trainee in the Frankfurt area. This 12‑month work‑based learning program provides hands‑on experience with server hardware, networking equipment, and data‑center operations while you work alongside seasoned AWS technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Assist experienced AWS Data Technicians with hardware troubleshooting on servers that are not live.
• Resolve hardware tickets involving motherboards, RAM, CPUs, GPUs, SSD/HDD replacements.
• Support network‑related tickets such as link‑down incidents, optics and switch replacements.
• Follow AWS Data Technicians during network troubleshooting and adhere to SLA requirements.
• Perform regular server hardware repairs under supervision.
• Interact with third‑party vendors and on‑site contractors as needed.

Required profile

• Enthusiasm for learning data‑center operations and hardware repair.
• Ability to follow detailed guidance from senior technicians.
• Commitment to meet service‑level agreements and ticket resolution standards.
• Willingness to work onsite in a fast‑paced data‑center environment.

Required skills

• Server hardware troubleshooting (motherboard, RAM, CPU, GPU).
• SSD/HDD replacement and media handling.
• Basic network troubleshooting (link down, optics, switch replacement).
• Familiarity with data‑center equipment and safety procedures.
