Finance Assistant (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join our fully remote team. You will support payroll, accounts payable and finance communications for a fast‑growing SaaS business.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of employee payroll processing.
• Communicate with internal and external HR regarding payroll and contractor matters.
• Review, approve and process all AP invoices, including SaaS subscriptions and contractor fees.
• Serve as the first point of contact for the finance email inbox.
• Manage finance documentation and control processes related to accounts payable.
• Work with Datev interfaces and apply German HGB and IFRS principles where applicable.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or equivalent qualification (e.g., Bilanzbuchhalter).
• 2‑3 years of experience in finance, accounting, payroll or related functions, preferably in a SaaS environment.
• Fluent in German and English (minimum B2 level).
• Strong organisational, time‑management and attention‑to‑detail abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace.
• Experience with Datev.
• Familiarity with GetMoss, Workable, Zoho, Stripe and Adyen (beneficial but not mandatory).
• Knowledge of German HGB and IFRS accounting standards.
