Freelance Data Science Engineer (Python & SQL)

About the role

Mindrift is looking for experienced data science specialists to create realistic, computationally intensive data science problems for AI testing projects. This freelance position is fully remote and project‑based, allowing you to work 10‑20 hours per week during active phases.

Key responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end data science problems that simulate real‑world analytical workflows across multiple industries.
• Develop Python‑based tasks using Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit‑learn, Statsmodels, Matplotlib and Seaborn.
• Ensure problems are deterministic, reproducible, and cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes.
• Incorporate big‑data processing scenarios that require scalable computational approaches.
• Validate solutions with standard statistical methods and provide clear documentation of problem statements and correct answers.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on data science experience with measurable business impact.
• Portfolio of completed projects or publications demonstrating real‑world problem solving.
• Strong written English (C1+).

Required skills

• Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit‑learn, Statsmodels, Matplotlib, Seaborn)
• SQL and database operations for data manipulation and analysis
• Statistical analysis and machine‑learning algorithm expertise
• Experience with GenAI technologies (LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, vector databases)
• Understanding of MLOps practices and model deployment workflows
• Familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch and LangChain frameworks
