Legal Counsel – Competition Law

About the role

Amazon is seeking an experienced competition lawyer to join its EU Competition team. The role focuses on complex EU and German competition matters, supporting Amazon’s business units and shaping long‑term strategy on novel regulatory issues.

Key responsibilities

• Drive EU‑level and German competition regulatory matters, working closely with local legal teams.
• Advise business and legal colleagues on competition‑related issues across all Amazon businesses.
• Identify emerging legal developments and assess their impact on Amazon’s operations.
• Partner with public policy teams and engage regulators and policymakers on a broad range of topics.
• Develop training, compliance mechanisms, and cross‑functional coordination within the EU Competition team.

Required profile

• Fully qualified lawyer with outstanding academic and legal credentials.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in EU and German competition law.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet aggressive deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
• Experience advising senior executives and handling independent regulatory matters.
