Legal Counsel (EMEA) – Temporary Role in Berlin

About the role

We are seeking a business‑oriented Legal Counsel to join our EMEA legal team on a fixed‑term basis (up to 1 year) in Berlin. The role focuses on providing pragmatic legal support to product, marketing, public policy and business teams across the DACH and CEE regions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver product, regulatory, compliance and litigation advice for tourism, travel, housing, consumer protection, e‑commerce, privacy and tax matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts such as NDAs, sales, service provider, agency, end‑user agreements, promotions and partnership deals.
• Manage a variety of litigation cases, from small‑claims consumer disputes to regulatory actions, and coordinate outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
• Support the launch of new products and initiatives by providing legal guidance and creating actionable guidelines.
• Research complex legal issues and keep internal policies up‑to‑date with EU legislation.

Required profile

• Fully‑qualified lawyer in Germany; CEE background is a plus.
• 8–10 years of post‑qualification experience, preferably in‑house within the tech/digital sector.
• Strong knowledge of consumer protection, unfair competition, marketing and contract law, with familiarity of EU legislation.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally in an international, multicultural environment.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and intellectual curiosity.

Required skills

• Excellent English communication (spoken and written).
• Additional language(s) such as Hungarian or Polish are a plus.
