Legal Director, Employment Law

About the role

Lime is seeking an EMEA Legal Director specializing in employment law to act as the senior legal partner for its People and business teams. In this strategic yet hands‑on position you will guide complex employment matters across multiple European jurisdictions while building scalable legal frameworks for a fast‑growing global mobility company.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice to HR, People, and business leaders on employee relations, performance management, terminations, investigations, accommodations, leaves, works council, workforce classification, TUPE, reorganisations and other sensitive issues.
• Lead employment‑related disputes, litigation, agency charges, audits, inspections and regulatory matters, including management of external counsel.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to design, implement and assess workforce structures, operational practices and contracts.
• Draft, review and localise employment agreements, handbooks, separation agreements, policies and related documentation.
• Support compensation and benefits programmes, pay‑equity and pay‑transparency initiatives, including compliance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and proactively advise on changes affecting company practices across jurisdictions.
• Develop and roll out scalable policies, playbooks and processes to improve consistency, reduce risk and enable efficient growth.

Required profile

• J.D. or equivalent law degree with active bar membership in good standing.
• Extensive experience advising on employment law matters across multiple European jurisdictions.
• Proven expertise in workforce classification, contingent workforce structures and TUPE‑related issues.
• Ability to work independently, manage complex matters from strategy through execution and collaborate with Legal, People, Operations, Finance and Product teams.
