Accountant – Finance & Accounting

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Accountant to join a well‑established German company’s finance and accounting team. The role can be based on‑site or in a hybrid setting across multiple locations in Germany.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping in line with German accounting standards (HGB).
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Reconcile bank accounts and general‑ledger balances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with German GAAP, tax regulations and prepare VAT returns.
• Assist with internal and external audits, liaising with auditors and tax advisors.
• Monitor financial transactions and identify discrepancies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Accountant, Financial Accountant or Bookkeeper.
• Strong knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB) and tax regulations.
• Fluent German language skills; English is a plus.
• Professional certifications such as Bilanzbuchhalter are an advantage.
