Accountant / Bilanzbuchhalter (m/f/d) – Remote‑first

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious, tech‑savvy Accountant (m/f/d) to join Appinio’s global finance team. In this role you will be the technical architect of our accounting function, ensuring high‑quality financial data while building a scalable, automated ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise the financial ledgers of the Appinio Group, guaranteeing 100 % accuracy, compliance and thorough documentation.
• Partner with the Team Lead Accounting to deliver fast, clean month‑end and year‑end closes (HGB) for the German entity and support subsidiary entities.
• Prepare audit documentation and schedules, acting as the internal expert for external auditors.
• Drive implementation and optimisation of the accounting tool‑stack (Light, DATEV, Lucanet) to create a fully digital, scalable function.
• Serve as a technical gatekeeper, reviewing accounting topics, ensuring data robustness and reducing manual effort.
• Provide technical sparring on accounting, tax and compliance matters and support consolidation across subsidiaries in Spain, the UK, the US and Colombia.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, remote‑first environment.
• Familiarity with German accounting standards (HGB) and international subsidiary alignment.
