Senior Procurement Manager / Buyer

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious Procurement Manager (Senior) to join our fast‑growing food retail start‑up in Berlin. You will be responsible for sourcing raw materials and finished products, ensuring high quality, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic buying for raw materials and finished‑goods categories to achieve cost savings, quality improvements and risk reduction.
• Select and qualify new suppliers, products and qualities.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and contracts with suppliers.
• Drive cost‑reduction initiatives such as alternate sourcing, specification simplification and packaging harmonisation.
• Lead sourcing activities including RFIs, RFQs and negotiations while maintaining quality standards.
• Build and manage relationships with co‑manufacturers and supply partners.
• Ensure supplier compliance with food‑safety, sustainability and legal requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain accurate data and reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in packaged‑goods or co‑pack sourcing, preferably with global raw‑material sourcing in the nuts/snacking category.
• Degree in business administration, economics or equivalent vocational training.
• Based in Berlin or surrounding area and willing to work on‑site at our Schöneberg headquarters.
• Excellent English; German is a plus.
• Strategic, data‑driven mindset with strong analytical abilities.
• Highly structured, organised and able to manage complex projects.
• Hands‑on mentality, assertive and a true team player.
