Research & Technology Composite Engineer

About the role

Airbus Aerostructures is looking for a Research and Technology Composite Engineer to join the Composite Technology team within Central Manufacturing Engineering. The role is based at the Stade plant, a leading producer of complex CFRP components for Airbus commercial aircraft and the A400M.

Key responsibilities

• Identify customer needs (plants, new programs) and deliver solutions through transnational R&T projects.
• Support and validate developments together with experts, industrial and digital architects.
• Develop and implement improvements to composite processes and technologies.
• Plan and execute physical trials and developments to mature and validate processes, materials and technologies, ensuring robust data capture and analysis.
• Collaborate with technological centres, suppliers and other partners for new developments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in materials, manufacturing systems or a related field.
• First experience managing trials in a shop‑floor environment, composite manufacturing processes and project management.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Highly motivated, independent, creative and open‑minded for new developments in a transnational technical environment.
