Accounting Consultant

About the role

We are looking for an Accounting Consultant to join our finance team in Garching. You will be responsible for preparing and reporting financial statements in both German HGB and US‑GAAP standards for a software company with long‑term project contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, notes and management reports according to HGB and US‑GAAP.
• Upload financial data from the local ERP system to the Group consolidation platform (OneStream) and ensure alignment of both systems.
• Reconcile US‑GAAP results to HGB, calculate and post complex accruals and provisions.
• Handle tax reporting, including deferred tax calculations.
• Identify and implement process optimisations to increase finance efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies, internal controls and NASDAQ‑listed company regulations (SOX).
• Support DACH‑region projects such as group restructurings, acquisitions and ERP migrations.
• Act as the main contact for tax consultants and auditors, preparing audit documentation.

Required profile

• Qualified Bilanzbuchhalter or several years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a project‑oriented environment.
• Strong knowledge of US‑GAAP and HGB, with experience in international legal and tax matters.
• Excellent written and spoken German and English.
• High personal integrity, hands‑on mentality and ability to work in an international team.
