Aero‑Thermal System Development Engineer

About the role

Airbus Commercial is seeking an Aero‑Thermal System Development Engineer to join the Controls & Equipment Ventilation Team in Hamburg‑Finkenwerder. The role focuses on designing, developing and supporting environmental control and ventilation systems for civil aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor technology trends and perform trend analysis to keep system knowledge up‑to‑date.
• Define system requirements and create technical specifications for ventilation systems.
• Conduct trade studies, define system architectures and assist in selecting manufacturers.
• Monitor suppliers, conduct reviews and audits, and perform risk analyses to ensure timely delivery of requirements.
• Validate qualification and verification tests at supplier sites.
• Define, execute and evaluate laboratory, ground and flight tests, and implement necessary improvements.
• Prepare documentation for official system certification.
• Analyze in‑service behavior, diagnose malfunctions and propose reliability improvements.
• Act as System Responsible (Level 1) and coordinate with Production, Customer Service, Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering and Configuration Management.
• Provide technical support to airline customers during in‑service operations.
