Analysis & Optimization Internship for Python Verification of C++ Models

About the role

The internship focuses on analysing and improving the performance of Python‑based verification environments used for C++ hardware models. You will work on profiling, benchmarking and optimisation of simulation workloads, and present your findings to the verification team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply profiling and benchmarking methods to characterise verification scenarios.
• Analyse how DUT characteristics and verification workloads affect simulation runtime and scalability.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, investigate root causes and evaluate optimisation strategies.
• Document results and create reusable performance‑analysis methodologies.
• Present findings to interdisciplinary teams and contribute to industrial hardware verification processes.

Required profile

• Hands‑on, proactive and organized team player with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Enrolled in a Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Kusterdingen for regular collaboration and debugging.

Required skills

• Python programming and performance profiling.
• Basic knowledge of C++.
• Linux development environment and Git version control.
• Profiling, benchmarking and software optimisation techniques.
• Familiarity with SystemC, Verilog/VHDL, cocotb, pyuvm or UVM (beneficial).
