Backend Engineer (Python) – Innovation Team

About the role

We are building one of Germany’s most modern cloud‑based platforms for medical practices, combining practice management software with AI‑powered workflows. As a Python Backend Engineer on the Innovation Team, you will rapidly prototype and ship new services, evaluate emerging technologies, and turn complex AI capabilities into reliable production back‑ends.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement high‑impact backend systems and MVPs with fast iteration cycles.
• Develop AI‑powered workflows using large language models and cloud services.
• Build integrations for OCR, speech, and automation pipelines.
• Scale high‑throughput ETL pipelines in a regulated healthcare environment.
• Improve reliability, observability, and operational simplicity across services.
• Contribute to technical direction and future platform capabilities.

Required profile

• Passion for building maintainable systems that can grow in complexity.
• Pragmatic engineering mindset, avoiding over‑engineering.
• Ability to iterate quickly without creating fragile code.
