Business Development Manager – Europe (AI‑focused)

About the role

Freshworks is seeking a data‑driven Business Development Manager to lead its European go‑to‑market engine. This player‑coach will design sales playbooks, leverage AI‑enabled tools, and inspire a team of Business Development Managers to capture new opportunities across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Drive inbound and outbound sales development activities and generate qualified opportunities.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to align on regional territory plans.
• Train, mentor and lead a team of Business Development Managers, ensuring effective time‑management and script customization.
• Conduct weekly team meetings and 1:1s to track progress against targets.
• Provide detailed performance analysis, forecasts and reporting to sales leadership.
• Partner with Marketing to shape campaign strategies and deliver feedback from prospect interactions.
• Implement an AI‑first GTM approach using automation, intent data and advanced sales‑tech stacks.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading BDM or sales development teams in a fast‑moving environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
• Comfortable operating at the intersection of startup hustle and AI innovation.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills to motivate a high‑performing team.
