Business Development Manager (Europe)

About the role

Freshworks is seeking a data‑driven Business Development Manager to lead its European go‑to‑market engine. Reporting to senior leadership, you will act as a player‑coach, building playbooks, leveraging AI‑enabled sales technology and guiding a team of Business Development Managers to generate qualified opportunities and accelerate growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute inbound and outbound sales development strategies for the European market.
• Train, mentor and manage a team of Business Development Managers, conducting weekly meetings and 1:1s to ensure target achievement.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing and product teams to align territory plans, campaign strategies and feedback loops.
• Maintain rigorous qualification standards, track conversion metrics and provide forecasts to sales leadership.
• Drive an AI‑first approach to GTM, utilizing automation, intent data and advanced sales‑tech tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading B2B sales or business development teams, preferably in SaaS or enterprise software.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret performance data and adjust tactics.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills to motivate a high‑performing team.
• Comfort operating in a fast‑moving, startup‑like environment while scaling processes.
