Buyer – Pharmaceutical Procurement (9‑Month Remote Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to support a leading pharmaceutical organisation on a 9‑month remote contract. The role focuses on procuring raw materials, APIs, packaging and indirect goods while ensuring compliance with GMP/GxP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement processes including sourcing, RFQs, negotiations and purchase order creation.
• Procure raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients, packaging and indirect services in line with demand plans.
• Build and maintain relationships with approved suppliers to guarantee quality and continuity of supply.
• Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory and Operations teams to meet GMP/GxP requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance, identify risks and drive corrective actions.
• Support cost‑saving initiatives and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate procurement data in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist, preferably in pharmaceutical, biotech or other regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of GMP/GxP compliance.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
