Controls Engineer – EMEA Controls

About the role

Amazon is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, commission, and maintain building automation systems for data centers across the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC). The role supports critical infrastructure, ensuring 24/7 availability of control systems for millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret electrical and control diagrams, building operation specifications, and industrial HVAC requirements.
• Develop control panel BOMs, ISA sheets for transmitters, valves, and other instrumentation.
• Create detailed drawings for control panels, power distribution, junction boxes, and cable routing plans.
• Design logic diagrams in International Automation format for PLCs and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
• Perform inspection, testing, and commissioning of facility control systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Manage service contracts with vendors and provide technical assistance to internal customers.

Required profile

• Background in construction management, mechanical, electrical, or related technology fields.
• Experience with critical infrastructure and data center environments.
• Ability to translate customer needs into technical specifications and scope of work.
• Business‑level proficiency in English.
