Custodial Worker – Housekeeping

About the role

The Custodial Worker supports the Executive Housekeeper by maintaining cleanliness and order in guest rooms, corridors, and public areas. Working under general supervision, you will ensure high standards of hygiene, appearance, and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, stairways, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, strip, wax, and polish floors using appropriate equipment.
• Dust, wax, and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Make beds, change linens, and replenish toiletries and room amenities.
• Empty trash, clean mirrors, windows, walls, and blinds.
• Report maintenance or repair needs observed in rooms.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and consumables.

Required profile

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and read signage.
• Basic knowledge of common cleaning solvents, tools, and equipment.
• Capability to remove stains from various surfaces.
• Willingness to work irregular schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Pass a pre‑employment physical and background checks; ability to lift and carry items up to 20 lb.

Required skills

• Operation of vacuum cleaners, lightweight floor scrubbers, waxers and buffers.
• Minor maintenance and troubleshooting of cleaning equipment.
