DevOps Engineer

About the role

Filics is building autonomous mobile robots that transform intralogistics. The DevOps Engineer will own the developer platform, bridging the gap between software development and robot hardware by improving build infrastructure, centralising telemetry, and integrating real robot hardware into continuous integration.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and scale a Bazel Remote Build Execution (RBE) system on the local cluster for CI and developer builds.
• Build a data ingestion pipeline that collects robot telemetry and stores it centrally for easy access by operators and developers.
• Implement AWS credential management and cost‑monitoring solutions for the engineering team.
• Collaborate with software engineers to identify and resolve build performance, observability, and tooling issues.
• Partner with infrastructure teams on hardware capacity planning and forecasting.
• Over the next 18‑24 months, expand the role to include robot deployment migration and end‑to‑end CI that validates changes on physical hardware.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Bazel or a comparable large‑scale build system (e.g., Buck, Conan, CMake).
• Experience deploying and scaling a remote build execution backend (e.g., Buildbarn, EngFlow, BuildBuddy).
• Proven track record building or operating CI systems for sizable engineering teams.
• Experience designing data ingestion pipelines and observability layers (dashboards, monitoring).
