Director of Health & Safety, EMEA

About the role

Knauf Gips KG is seeking a Director of Health & Safety for the EMEA region. This senior position will shape safety culture across multiple countries, mentor professionals, and ensure compliance with corporate and regional regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead EMEA safety leadership, mentor H&S professionals and management, and build talent pipelines.
• Own the H&S strategy and governance, deploying Group Safety Standards across the region.
• Oversee risk management and high‑risk operations, driving audits, process reviews, site inspections and compliance activities.
• Lead serious incident investigations, deliver corrective actions, benchmark performance and share best practices.
• Analyze safety metrics, interpret regulations, apply industry standards and partner with corporate H&S as a trusted thought leader.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Safety Management or a related field.
• Recognised H&S credentials (e.g., CSP, CIH, NEBOSH, SiFa).
• 15+ years of HSE leadership in global heavy‑process environments (mining, process, heavy industry).
• Proven ability to drive cultural change across multicultural, cross‑divisional organisations.
• Broad hands‑on technical depth in safety systems and strong analytical problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and people‑leadership abilities.
