Director of Procurement – Germany & Austria

About the role

We are partnering with a global market‑leading FMCG organisation in Frankfurt that is seeking a Director of Procurement to lead a team of four direct reports. The role covers Germany and Austria, overseeing €50 million of spend across direct and indirect materials.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and shape the end‑to‑end procurement strategy across direct & indirect materials.
• Define and execute forward‑looking category strategies that support margin expansion and evolving consumer preferences.
• Drive high‑impact supplier negotiations to secure best‑in‑class commercial terms, trading agreements, and income streams.
• Play a pivotal role in delivering sustained gross margin growth in line with the 4‑year strategic plan.
• Maximise total supplier value by optimising income streams, including rebates, promotional funding, and marketing contributions.
• Partner closely with commercial teams to shape pricing strategies and enable effective revenue management.
• Drive digital and data‑led transformation by embedding advanced capabilities.
• Strengthen organisational capability by building bench strength, developing talent pipelines, and ensuring long‑term succession readiness.

Required profile

• 10+ years of procurement experience.
• Industry experience within FMCG, retail, logistics or food & beverage.
• Experience managing both direct & indirect procurement categories.
• Previous experience leading procurement teams.
• Experience working within a matrix organisation.
• Fluent in English and German.

• Base salary up to €120,000 per year.
