Engineering Manager – Data Science

About the role

Peec AI is building the analytics platform for AI search, helping brands understand their visibility across AI assistants. As Engineering Manager (Data Science) you will lead a high‑performing data science team, drive the design and deployment of core ML models, and translate complex research into product impact.

Key responsibilities

• Build, mentor and lead an elite data science team, acting as a player‑coach and communicating technical ideas to executives and partners.
• Personally design, train, deploy and own the models powering Peec AI’s search recommendations.
• Develop novel algorithms that reverse‑engineer AI search and LLM behavior, turning insights into product advantages.
• Own the full ML lifecycle from research and experimentation to production deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Architect scalable data and ML systems, making high‑leverage decisions on pipelines, modeling approaches and model serving.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional data science experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role at a high‑growth startup or FAANG‑level tech company.
• Proven track record of building and shipping category‑defining ML products in frontier environments.
• Deep first‑principles understanding of LLMs and AI search systems, with ability to evaluate and reverse‑engineer emergent model behavior.
• Experience making architectural and modeling decisions in cloud‑native environments, preferably GCP.
