Engineering Manager – Developer Experience (EU/UK remote)

About the role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a brand‑new Developer Experience platform team. This founding role will define the golden path for service deployment, CI/CD integration and AI‑assisted tooling, ensuring engineers are productive from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve the “golden path” – deployment templates, CI/CD patterns, production checklists and onboarding flows on our Kubernetes cluster.
• Track developer satisfaction metrics such as adoption rate, lead time and time‑to‑first‑deploy, and resolve platform work‑arounds.
• Standardise AI‑assisted development tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) and lead the AI harness project.
• Build the team from scratch: hiring, culture, technical bar and roadmap.
• Collaborate with product teams, read JVM stack traces and guide configuration troubleshooting.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software development experience in Python, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
• Hands‑on experience building CI/CD systems, internal developer portals or golden paths, and deep knowledge of Kubernetes (cluster APIs, namespaces, RBAC, admission control).
• Proven ability to hire and grow engineering teams.
• Security‑first mindset and familiarity with PCI DSS / SOC2 environments (fintech experience a plus).
• Fluent English communication.
