Field Service Technician

About the role

As a Field Service Technician at Westinghouse, you will support the preparation, maintenance, testing, and operation of specialized mechanical and electromechanical equipment used during nuclear power plant outages worldwide. The position combines hands‑on equipment repair, remote‑controlled tool operation, and close collaboration with engineering teams to validate and improve new technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain remote‑controlled equipment such as milling, drilling, Electric Discharge Machining and bolting systems.
• Commission and test newly designed equipment in nuclear power plant environments.
• Support product and development engineers during testing phases, including parameter development, validation and troubleshooting.
• Install and configure software on control units and computers, including network setup.
• Operate specialized equipment on‑site at nuclear facilities worldwide.
• Manufacture or modify electrical and mechanical components and assemble equipment and tooling.
• Collaborate across departments and international teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a skilled worker or technician in a similar field.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrotechnical aptitude.
• Basic computer knowledge, including software installation and networking.
• Ability to read technical documentation such as mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• English proficiency of at least A2 (B1 preferred) and native‑level or C1/C2 proficiency in the local language.
• Problem‑solving mindset, teamwork, and willingness to travel internationally.
