Field Service Technician

About the role

As a Field Service Technician you will support the preparation, maintenance, testing and operation of specialized mechanical and electromechanical equipment used during nuclear power plant outages worldwide. The role involves working with remote‑controlled tools, collaborating closely with engineering teams, and travelling internationally to on‑site locations.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain specialized remote‑controlled equipment such as milling, drilling, Electric Discharge Machining and bolting systems.
• Commission and test newly designed equipment before field deployment.
• Assist product and development engineers during testing phases, including parameter development, validation and troubleshooting.
• Install and configure software on control units and computers, including network setup.
• Operate specialized equipment on‑site in nuclear power plants worldwide.
• Manufacture or modify electrical and mechanical components and assemble tooling.
• Collaborate with cross‑departmental and international teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar skilled‑worker or technician role.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrotechnical aptitude.
• Ability to read technical documentation such as mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Basic computer knowledge, software installation and networking skills.
• English proficiency at least A2 (B1 preferred) and native‑level or C1/C2 proficiency in the local language.
• Problem‑solving mindset, teamwork and open communication.
• Willingness to travel internationally and work in outage environments.
