Founder & CEO for Maritime Defence Technology Startup

About the role

We are seeking a visionary Founder & CEO to launch a maritime defence technology company in Europe. The role will be created from scratch, backed by Atlantic.vc, and will focus on developing innovative subsea and surface systems that leverage AI, autonomy and edge computing.

Key responsibilities

• Define the overall product strategy and company vision in collaboration with the investor.
• Lead customer discovery, engage with defence ministries and industry partners.
• Set the early technical direction and architecture for maritime and subsea solutions.
• Recruit and build the founding team, including engineers, product managers and business development staff.
• Drive fundraising, company formation and legal setup.
• Establish go‑to‑market plans and long‑term growth pathways.

Required profile

• Proven ability to start and lead a technology company or equivalent entrepreneurial experience.
• Strong technical intuition for complex systems, especially in maritime, robotics or defence domains.
• Experience recruiting high‑performing teams and making decisions under uncertainty.
• Excellent communication skills with customers, investors and partners.
• Motivation to build a lasting organisation rather than join an existing one.
