Global IT Category Manager – Procurement (m/f/d)

About the role

We are looking for a Global IT Category Manager to lead procurement of hardware and software for a leading professional services firm in Hamburg. The role will shape strategic sourcing, drive cost optimisation and work closely with cross‑functional teams to support the organisation’s digital agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end strategic sourcing for IT hardware and software, from market analysis to supplier selection and contract negotiation.
• Manage a portfolio of procurement projects, including routine renewals and high‑value, complex negotiations.
• Conduct market intelligence, benchmarking and supplier evaluations to inform sourcing decisions.
• Support contract development, risk assessment and compliance reviews.
• Collaborate with legal, finance and business units to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
• Contribute to procurement transformation initiatives, such as process optimisation and change management.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in IT procurement covering both hardware and software.
• Proven track record of negotiating supplier contracts and delivering cost efficiencies.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a structured, solution‑oriented approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills, fluent in English and German.
