Internal Auditor – Manufacturing (Essen, Germany)

About the role

We are looking for an Internal Auditor to join our manufacturing site near Essen, Germany. The role focuses on improving controls, strengthening governance and partnering with operational teams across a complex industrial environment. You will report to the Internal Audit function and collaborate with colleagues in Europe, the US and Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audit reviews, walkthroughs, testing and validation across production, maintenance, logistics and manufacturing.
• Develop and monitor remediation plans to close control gaps in a timely manner.
• Conduct SOX testing and compliance reviews.
• Manage relationships with operational, strategic and engineering leaders.
• Support financial and operational risk identification and improvement initiatives.
• Perform targeted reviews, investigations and ad‑hoc assignments across the organisation.
• Promote governance, accountability and control awareness while maintaining independence.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, compliance or internal controls testing (in‑house or Big 4).
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or industrial environments is a plus.
• Fluency in German and English, with daily office communication in German.
• Professional qualifications such as CIA, ACCA, CISA or CPA are advantageous.
