Internship in Electric Aircraft Lab Test Operations & Bench Design

About the role

Join Airbus Defence and Space in Taufkirchen for a 5‑6 month internship supporting electric aircraft laboratory test operations and test‑bench design. You will work closely with engineers to commission new test systems and contribute to the development of next‑generation powertrain demonstrators.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in commissioning test systems for new test benches.
• Support the electrical power distribution concept using real battery and hydrogen sources, including test setup, execution and data analysis.
• Contribute to the commissioning of superconducting and cryogenic experimental powertrain demonstrators.
• Define mechanical adaptations for test benches and create 3D models of upcoming motor systems.
• Help develop safety concepts for hybrid electrical test benches based on a central safety PLC.

Required profile

• Enrolled full‑time student in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace engineering or a related field.
• Fluent in German and English.
• First practical experience with CAD tools is desirable.
• Ability to work on‑site in Taufkirchen and collaborate with an international team.
