IT Security Engineer (f/m/d)

About the role

As an IT Security Engineer you will protect our modern payment platform, ensuring that our infrastructure, applications and processes meet the highest security standards. You will work closely with DevOps and development teams to embed security into every stage of the software lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen and secure the infrastructure supporting DevOps practices.
• Conduct regular security assessments, penetration tests and audits.
• Monitor systems and networks for suspicious activity and vulnerabilities.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, including breaches and malware outbreaks.
• Manage endpoint protection, firewalls, IDS/IPS and other security tools.
• Identify and remediate vulnerabilities in Java/Spring‑based applications.
• Collaborate with developers to enable secure configurations and deployments.
• Support compliance with GDPR, ISO 27001 and other relevant regulations.

Required profile

• Several years of proven experience as an IT security specialist or similar role.
• Proactive, hands‑on mindset with a strong interest in DevOps and cybersecurity.
• Experience in regulated environments (e.g., finance or healthcare) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH or CompTIA Security+ are desirable.

Required skills

• Penetration testing tools and methodologies.
• SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, firewalls.
• Network and application security principles.
• Incident response and security analysis.
• Linux server administration.
• Scripting/automation: Python, Bash, Ansible.
• Knowledge of Java and/or JavaScript development processes.
