IT Service Desk Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an IT Service Desk Specialist to join a leading European financial services organisation in Essen. You will be the first point of contact for internal users, ensuring that workplace technology runs smoothly and supports the company’s growing workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, log and resolve IT incidents, service and change requests via phone, email and in‑person.
• Prioritise tickets, troubleshoot and resolve a high proportion of issues directly.
• Escalate complex problems to 2nd‑line support when required.
• Support office relocation and infrastructure projects.
• Set up and configure new workstations, laptops, desktops and related hardware.
• Install, maintain and support printers and other office technology.
• Assist with hardware lifecycle management and patch management.

Required profile

• Completed training as an IT specialist or comparable technical qualification.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Analytical, solution‑oriented mindset with the ability to prioritise multiple requests.
• Basic knowledge of ITIL concepts (beneficial but not essential).
