Junior Accountant (m/f/d) – Digital FinTech

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join our Berlin team and help shape the future of digital bookkeeping. You will work with an AI‑first product that automates routine tasks while you ensure the accuracy of financial data for small‑business clients.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and review receipts and invoices, and validate automated booking suggestions.
• Maintain day‑to‑day bookkeeping including accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank and cash transactions.
• Support monthly closings, VAT pre‑filings (UStVA) and prepare regular financial reports.
• Collaborate with senior accountants and product engineers, gradually taking ownership of client portfolios.

Required profile

• Approximately 1 year of practical accounting experience (training, internship, student job or career switch).
• Basic understanding of booking logic; exposure to VAT pre‑filings is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, initiative and a willingness to learn new digital tools.
• Fluent English (B2/C1) and solid German (minimum B2) for tax and accounting terminology.

Required skills

• Experience with DATEV or similar German accounting software.
• Knowledge of VAT pre‑filings (UStVA) processes.
