Junior Field Engineer & Robot Operator (Airport Deployment)

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Field Engineer and Robot Operator to work on‑site at Frankfurt Airport. The role involves operating an autonomous monitoring robot, verifying its alerts and performing first‑line hardware support. It is a full‑time, day‑shift position on a 3‑month fixed‑term contract, extendable.

Key responsibilities

• Start‑up, calibrate, monitor and shut‑down the robot’s daily patrol routes.
• Review automated alerts and physically inspect flagged areas such as liquid spills, broken furniture or non‑functional screens.
• Perform basic hardware tasks: clear sensor obstructions, check wheel assemblies, swap batteries and ensure charging dock connectivity.
• Log confirmed findings with photos in the ticketing system and escalate complex issues to senior engineers.
• Keep the robot clean and ensure its operation does not block passenger walkways or emergency routes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field, or a recognised technical diploma.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged; academic projects or internships with hands‑on hardware experience are a plus.
• Ability to work independently on‑site and follow safety procedures.

Required skills

• Comfortable handling hardware components and basic mechanical tools.
• Proficient with Windows or Linux operating systems and digital form entry.
• Familiarity with a scripting or programming language such as Python or C++ (optional but beneficial).

What we offer

• Fixed‑term (3 months, extendable) contract with full‑time day‑shift schedule.
• Gross monthly salary of €1,500; contractor is responsible for own tax and social‑security contributions.
