Legal Director – Employment Law

About the role

Lime is seeking an EMEA Legal Director, Employment Law to act as senior legal partner to the People team and business leaders across multiple jurisdictions. The role combines strategic guidance with hands‑on advice on complex employment matters for a fast‑growing global micromobility company.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as senior legal partner for HR, People, and business leaders on day‑to‑day employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Advise on complex issues such as employee relations, performance management, terminations, investigations, accommodations, leaves, works council matters, workforce classification, TUPE, reorganisations, and other sensitive workplace matters.
• Lead employment‑related disputes, litigation, agency charges, audits, inspections and regulatory matters, including managing outside counsel.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to design, implement and assess workforce structures, operational practices and contracts.
• Draft, review and localise employment agreements, handbooks, separation agreements, policies and other employment‑related documents.
• Collaborate on compensation and benefits programmes, pay‑equity and pay‑transparency initiatives, including EU Pay Transparency Directive compliance.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and proactively advise the business on changes affecting company practices.
• Develop and implement scalable policies, playbooks and processes to improve consistency, reduce risk and support efficient growth.

Required profile

• J.D. or equivalent law degree with active bar membership in good standing.
• Extensive experience in employment law across multiple European jurisdictions.
• Proven track record advising on workforce classification, contingent workforce structures and complex employee‑relations matters.
• Ability to manage matters from strategy through execution and to work independently.
• Strong judgment and excellent communication skills for cross‑functional partnership.
