Product Technical Expert – NPI – Semiconductor Equipment

About the role

We are seeking a Product Technical Expert (PTE) to join Applied Materials’ Product Management team, driving the development of next‑generation semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The PTE will act as the technical owner of a product line, aligning customer requirements with engineering design and manufacturing capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Own the product line throughout its lifecycle, from NPI to volume production.
• Collaborate with industrial and supplier engineering to evaluate and qualify components for technical, quality and cost criteria.
• Drive design‑for‑manufacturability (DFM) initiatives to optimise cost, quality and uptime.
• Support prototype builds and system integration during the NPI phase.
• Maintain technical documentation and manage engineering change orders (ECOs).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Systems Engineering.
• Extensive experience in product development for semiconductor or high‑tech capital equipment.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes such as lithography, etch, deposition and metrology.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills in a global, cross‑functional environment.
