Project Manager – Large-Scale BESS & Grid Flexibility

About the role

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of two major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and grid‑flexibility projects for a well‑capitalised energy infrastructure company expanding its operations in Germany. The role involves end‑to‑end ownership of large‑scale energy infrastructure projects, from engineering and construction through commissioning and grid connection.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day delivery of the assigned BESS and grid‑flexibility projects.
• Coordinate engineering, construction, commercial, commissioning and grid activities.
• Manage project programme, budget, progress reporting and delivery performance.
• Lead internal teams, contractors, subcontractors and manage project interfaces.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, handle opportunities, changes and delivery issues.
• Oversee contractual and commercial matters, including variations, claims and subcontract awards.
• Ensure safe delivery, on‑time completion, budget adherence and required quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering complex, large‑scale energy or infrastructure projects in Germany.
• Strong background in BESS, grid infrastructure, power generation, renewables or related sectors.
• Experience within EPC, IPP, utility or owner‑side project environments.
• Professional fluency in German and English.
• Ability to work effectively with technical, commercial and construction stakeholders.
