Quality Assurance & Quality Control Specialist

About the role

Pacifico is looking for a hands‑on Quality Assurance & Quality Control Specialist to build and maintain the quality, food safety, and compliance systems required for safe, scalable commercial food production. You will work at the Leipzig/Chemnitz production site, ensuring products meet regulatory, customer, and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve food safety and quality management systems (HACCP, cGMP).
• Support traceability, recall readiness, deviation handling, and corrective actions.
• Assist with IFS Food certification and audit preparation.
• Conduct quality control for raw materials, in‑process items, packaging, and finished goods.
• Review specifications, test results, and release decisions.
• Manage non‑conforming materials and coordinate with production and external labs.
• Create and update SOPs, work instructions, batch records, and specifications.
• Train employees on food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement through deviation follow‑up and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Practical experience in QA/QC within food production or biotech.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, cGMP, and IFS Food standards.
• Ability to implement and audit quality management systems.
• Excellent documentation and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
