About the role
Join the quantum technology team within the optical systems engineering department to develop cutting‑edge optical and quantum communication components for satellite missions.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop optical and quantum communication modules and systems.
- Perform systems engineering tasks for satellite missions.
- Build, test and analyse laser and opto‑electronic setups in the laboratory.
- Interact with customers to gather technical requirements and provide specifications.
Required profile
- Master’s or PhD in physics, photonics, optical engineering or related STEM fields.
- Several years of experience in optical communications, laser physics or quantum technology.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- Fluent in English and German.
Required skills
- Hands‑on experience with lasers and opto‑electronics.
- Knowledge of free‑space and fiber optics.
- Experience in optical communications and quantum technology.
