About the role

Join the quantum technology team within the optical systems engineering department to develop cutting‑edge optical and quantum communication components for satellite missions.

Key responsibilities

Design and develop optical and quantum communication modules and systems.
Perform systems engineering tasks for satellite missions.
Build, test and analyse laser and opto‑electronic setups in the laboratory.
Interact with customers to gather technical requirements and provide specifications.

Required profile

Master’s or PhD in physics, photonics, optical engineering or related STEM fields.
Several years of experience in optical communications, laser physics or quantum technology.
Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
Fluent in English and German.

Required skills

Hands‑on experience with lasers and opto‑electronics.
Knowledge of free‑space and fiber optics.
Experience in optical communications and quantum technology.
