Reliability Engineer – Global Maintenance & Digitalization

About the role

We are looking for a Reliability Engineer to lead the design and implementation of predictive maintenance strategies for two new insulin production facilities in Frankfurt and China. The role sits within the Reliability and Digitalization team and will work closely with automation, digital and operations groups to ensure high availability and cost‑effective operation of critical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Design a global predictive maintenance strategy for the two facilities in a fully digital environment, considering the impact of failures on the insulin production value stream.
• Collaborate with automation and digital teams to integrate smart instrumentation, IoT devices and site‑historian parameterisation.
• Define and collect advanced diagnostic data, perform FMEA analysis and support AI‑driven condition monitoring.
• Implement conditional maintenance activities, replace systematic tasks, and manage work‑orders through the CMMS with KPI tracking.
• Establish a continuous‑improvement loop based on “bad actor” equipment analysis and update maintenance instructions.
• Lead the transfer of new maintenance plans to the local Frankfurt maintenance organisation, adapting to local resources and external support.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of technical experience in industrial sites, including maintenance in large‑scale production environments.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, FDA and EU regulatory requirements, especially data‑integrity.
• Proven ability to work in a large, matrixed, global organisation with defined processes and governance.
• Rigorous, organised and results‑oriented with solid mechanical and automation fundamentals.
