Remote Tax Law Expert

About the role

Turing is seeking experienced U.S. tax law professionals to help fine‑tune large language models. You will work remotely, reviewing AI‑generated answers to complex tax scenarios and providing high‑quality feedback that improves model performance.

Key responsibilities

• Review and evaluate AI‑generated responses to federal income tax, corporate tax, partnership taxation, and international tax hypotheticals.
• Apply a structured legal rubric to assess issue spotting, accuracy of Internal Revenue Code citations, and proper use of Treasury Regulations and IRS guidance.
• Identify gaps in AI reasoning related to basis calculations, gain recognition, tax credits, transfer pricing, and tax‑exempt organization rules.
• Provide detailed annotations and written feedback to refine the AI models.
• Collaborate with researchers and project managers to align evaluation standards and project goals.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Active or inactive bar admission.
• 3+ years of practice in U.S. tax law, tax planning, or tax controversy.
• Strong reasoning skills across the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, and state/local tax frameworks.
• Excellent written communication and high attention to detail.
• High ethical standards; interest in AI is a plus.
