Robotics Hardware Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an innovative Robotics Hardware Engineer to design, develop, and integrate electrical‑mechanical systems for advanced robotics in harsh production environments. The role focuses on sensor integration, hardware‑software bridging, and scalable hardware design for heavy‑industry machines.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate and optimise robotic sensors such as LiDAR, Radar, cameras and IMUs into autonomous systems, ensuring accurate data acquisition.
• Design mechanical integration of multiple sensors and compute units on real‑world machines.
• Lead electrical/mechanical engineering efforts for manufacturability and scalability of hardware designs.
• Develop and validate hardware‑electronic integration frameworks to streamline communication between actuators, sensors and control units.
• Troubleshoot and optimise complex field systems, addressing EMI, power management and signal integrity.
• Participate in all product development phases from concept through prototyping, testing and mass production.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics or related field.
• Experience deploying electronics hardware in adverse conditions with robust power and data transfer.
• Hands‑on experience with rugged industrial/automotive connectors and wire‑harness design.
• Strong analytical skills with a proven track record solving complex electrical and integration challenges.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM tools for mechanical and electrical design, including 3D printing and prototyping.
• Knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers and communication protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI).
• Familiarity with robotic sensors (LiDAR, Radar, cameras, IMU) and their integration.
• Programming in Python, C++ or firmware development for embedded systems.
• Understanding of actuators, motors and closed‑loop control systems.
