Robotics State Estimation Engineer

About the role

As a State Estimation Engineer at sensmore, you will design and deploy robust, fail‑safe state estimation systems for autonomous heavy machinery operating in harsh, unstructured environments. You will work at the intersection of robotics, perception, and control, turning noisy multi‑sensor data into accurate real‑time 3‑D state estimates.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement pipelines that estimate vehicle motion states (velocity, angular velocity, position) in real time.
• Fuse data from LiDAR, IMU, GNSS, wheel odometry and other sensors using probabilistic frameworks such as EKF, UKF or factor‑graph methods.
• Integrate estimation modules with ROS/ROS2 robotics stacks and validate performance through simulation, log analysis and field testing.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with state estimation algorithms (Kalman filters, optimization‑based estimators, particle filters).
• Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python, preferably within ROS/ROS2 environments.
• Ability to debug estimation failures and reason about system‑level robotics behavior.
