Senior Backend Engineer – Team Atlas

About the role

Senior Backend Engineers at Taktile build the data infrastructure that powers real‑time credit, risk and other financial decisions. You will join Team Atlas, a small high‑ownership group focused on the feature computation platform.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate backend services in Python on AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, Aurora) and event‑driven pipelines handling production traffic.
• Tackle latency, reliability and scaling challenges typical of large‑scale fintech systems.
• Own systems end‑to‑end: architecture, implementation, deployment, monitoring and incident response.
• Make key architectural decisions and influence how the platform is built.
• Raise the bar through code reviews, mentoring and improving tooling and processes.
• Collaborate directly with Product and Design to shape upcoming features.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years leading complex projects.
• Deep expertise in Python and building backend systems on AWS.
• Strong system design skills and ability to make architectural trade‑offs.
• Depth in at least one area such as data pipelines, event‑driven architectures, caching or serverless systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid model from Berlin, London or Iaşi.
