Senior Data Scientist – AI Solutions

About the role

ICIS, part of Relx, is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to design AI‑driven solutions for global commodity markets, primarily in the chemicals sector. You will collaborate directly with customers, domain experts, product managers and engineers to turn high‑value opportunities into scalable products.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with customers to understand goals, workflows and decision processes.
• Identify high‑impact use cases where data science, analytics and AI can deliver measurable value.
• Rapidly prototype, test and iterate solutions, incorporating user feedback.
• Apply machine learning, generative AI and agentic approaches to solve customer problems.
• Combine ICIS data, domain expertise and customer context to create differentiated analytical solutions.
• Communicate insights and technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Contribute to best practices in experimentation, model development, evaluation, documentation and maintainability.
• Surface data, semantic and platform gaps to influence future product development.

Required profile

• Experience in chemicals, energy, commodities or related industrial sectors.
• Strong ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and customers.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
