Senior IT Security Manager – SOC Focus

About the role

This senior position is part of a leading financial services organisation undergoing a large‑scale transformation. The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on implementation to modernise the security infrastructure, with a strong focus on SOC engineering, security architecture and cyber defence.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the development, enhancement and execution of the IT Security Programme.
• Lead strategic planning and design of security architecture and infrastructure.
• Build and improve SOC engineering and cyber‑defence capabilities.
• Manage SIEM, vulnerability management and incident response processes.
• Conduct security audits and penetration‑testing activities and implement improvements.
• Develop, maintain and improve security policies, controls and operational procedures.
• Provide security guidance to architecture, engineering and software development teams.
• Collaborate with senior IT leadership on cyber‑risk management and security strategy.
• Coordinate third‑party security providers and vendors.
• Support broader infrastructure and security‑operations initiatives.

Required profile

• Strategic and hands‑on mindset with senior‑level experience in IT security.
• Proven ability to lead security programmes in a complex, regulated environment.
• Strong communication skills to advise senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
• Experience working in financial services or similarly regulated sectors is preferred.
