Senior Procurement Manager

About the role

We are supporting a fast‑growing renewable energy business that designs and builds large‑scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) across Europe. The Senior Procurement Manager will lead the procurement function, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with the right partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead tender processes and negotiate framework agreements and project contracts for BESS projects in Germany and other European markets.
• Manage end‑to‑end procurement from initiation through contract execution.
• Serve as the central interface between procurement teams, technical specialists, project developers, and external contractors.
• Collaborate with asset management, construction, finance, and origination teams to align technical and commercial requirements.
• Work closely with external legal and technical advisors to optimise contractual outcomes.
• Conduct due‑diligence on suppliers and oversee contract award processes.
• Expand and maintain a strong contractor base in Germany, especially for electrical and Balance‑of‑Plant scopes.
• Maintain procurement databases, supplier evaluations, benchmarking, and market intelligence.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of procurement or contract‑management experience, preferably in energy or infrastructure.
• Hands‑on experience with CAPEX projects in renewable energy (BESS, solar PV, wind, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of contract frameworks such as FIDIC and/or VOB/B.
• Proven track record negotiating complex commercial and contractual agreements.
• Experience working in international project environments.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe.
