Senior Requirements Engineer / Technical Business Analyst (Hybrid Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Requirements Engineer / Technical Business Analyst to join a technology‑driven organization on a contract basis. The role is hybrid, based in the Kiel/Hamburg region, and requires fluency in German and English.

Key responsibilities

• Translate complex business and customer needs into clear, actionable technical requirements.
• Gather, analyse, validate and document functional requirements and solution concepts.
• Support agile teams by defining EPICs, solution requirements and user stories.
• Perform reverse engineering of existing systems and maintain structured requirements documentation.
• Ensure end‑to‑end traceability from requirements through testing and implementation.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Systems Engineering and Development teams.
• Drive stakeholder alignment and support change initiatives across the organisation.

Required profile

• 6–10+ years of experience in software development and requirements engineering.
• Strong background in requirements management, business analysis or systems analysis within software‑driven environments.
• Proven ability to work independently, influence stakeholders and deliver outcomes in complex settings.
• Excellent analytical, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Fluent German and business‑level English.

Required skills

• CI/CD tools such as GitLab or Jenkins.
• Container technologies including Docker, Podman or Kubernetes.
• Virtualisation platforms such as VMware or XCP‑ng.
• Experience with DevOps and modern software delivery environments.
