Senior Team Lead – Data Analytics (Hybrid, Munich)

About the role

One of Europe's fastest‑growing travel‑tech scale‑ups is looking for a senior analytics leader to head a core Business Intelligence team in Munich. The role combines hands‑on data work with people management and strategic influence across product, operations and revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of four analysts within the BI department, recruiting and developing talent.
• Define AI‑native analytics tools, workflows, standards and rituals, using Claude, Cursor and emerging technologies.
• Engage senior leadership on strategic projects that shape product strategy, internal operations and revenue growth.
• Support stakeholders in Customer Support, Host Experience, Sales and Account Management by translating complex problems into analytical requirements.
• Perform hands‑on analytical work, building queries, models and visualisations.
• Help shape BI department strategy and the future of AI‑powered data products.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in data analytics.
• Previous people‑management experience; this is not a first leadership role.
• Proven ability to communicate with executive stakeholders and senior decision‑makers.
• Mission‑driven, “working‑backwards” mindset focused on business needs and actionable insights.
• Fluency with AI tools such as Claude, Cursor or similar, used as part of daily work.

Required skills

• Strong SQL.
• Python (or similar programming language).
• Data visualisation (Looker).
• Experience with AWS services: Redshift, Athena, Glue, S3.
• dbt, Airflow, Git, Jira.
